The Vessel and Owners

The Indo Aggressor, formerly known as Komodo Dancer was designed and built with a dive liveaboard specification in mind. The vessel is inspired by a traditional Indonesian wooden two-masted sailing ‘phinisi’ schooner. It comes with tastefully appointed comfortable accommodation, delectable cuisine, professional Cruise Director, dive staff, crew and much more to ensure that your vacation is an optimal mix of adventure and relaxation combined with the classic ambience of a vintage wooden sailing ship.

The Indo Aggressor is also known as Ombak Biru, a vessel affliated with the Aggressorfleet primarily sailing around the areas of Flores, East Nusa Tenggara region of Indonesia and operated by PT Ombak Biru.. The Aggressorfleet, a world renowned liveaboard group, is at the fore front of liveaboard luxury and provides fully inclusive high quality dive trips to The Komodo National park and Alors.

The Owners

Foo Fatt Chuen, Lim Chang Jiat and Evelyne Sim are from Malaysia whom are avid divers and passionate about underwater photography. The idea of acquiring a diving vessel came to mind when they did their first trip to Komodo islands in 2010 and they didn’t want to leave that area. It was such an extraordinary experience underwater with the crystal clear visibility, colourful reefs and incredible marine biodiversity. They left their hearts behind at the end of the trip and decided that they needed to have a reason and place to come back to Komodo, hence the Indo Aggressor.

Foo Fatt Chuen, popularly known to friends as Fudge is an architect by profession. He has been diving for more than 20 years and is one of the rare divers armed with an open water certificate with 2000+ dives under his belt, and proud of it. Normally a man of few words, however when it comes to diving and underwater photography, Fudge is like a child with a new toy. The joy in his face when he captures a good picture is absolutely contagious.

Lim Chang Jiat has been in the financial planning line for the past 9 years and it was getting a little monotonous. When the opportunity to own a vessel came along, he excitingly seized it. Not only was the new venture about scuba diving, he was eager to embark on this new challenge of managing a liveaboard. Having dived in many islands around South East Asia is still stunned by what he sees while diving in Komodo National Park back in 2010. As a diver, jiat loves enjoying and observing the underwater in its natural beauty.

Evelyne Sim studied law but chose to forgo being cooped up in an office cubicle for a more exciting world in customer relations. When Evelyne was offered an opportunity to be part owner of the Indo Aggressor, there was no turning back. There is no satisfaction like being passionate about your work, especially when your office is the Komodo National Park.

Looking forward, they would love to be able to share this veritable treasure that they have found with divers around the world. Never to rest on their laurels, they will continue to work hard and exceed guests’ expectations.
