Experiences
Today, the centres of boatbuilding are located at Tana Beru, Bira and Batu Licin, where about 70 per cent of the population make a living through work related to boatbuilding and navigation. The construction and deployment of such vessels stand in the millennia-long tradition of Austronesian boatbuilding and navigation that has brought forth a broad variety of sophisticated watercrafts. Shipbuilding and sailing are not only the communities’ economic mainstay, however, but also the central focus of daily life and identity. The reciprocal cooperation between the communities of shipwrights and their relations with their customers strengthen mutual understanding between the parties involved. Knowledge and skills related to the element are passed down from generation to generation within the family circle, as well as to individuals outside of the family through the division of labour. The communities, groups and individuals concerned are actively involved in safeguarding efforts, for example through marketing initiatives and the publication of books on the subject.
Divers with keen interest with the big and small had a great time diving with various species of schooling fishes, mantas, painted frogfish and many more. The colourful coral reefs are the perfect backdrop for the stung underwater creatures.
Maintenance works are done on this elegant lady every year without fail. This time round, tender engines was changed, paintworks for the whole boatwere done to stripped and recoated. Cabins wall were stripped and repanelled and main table was refurbished for a more fresh look. This year, we are very proud to have 4 stroke engines for both our tenders.
Every corner of the boat is inspected and checked to ensure guests’ safety and comfort are our top priority.
Giant cuttlefish, reefs filled with colourful fusiliers, a pair of harlequin shrimps, crabs, white tip sharks, hawksbill turtle, school of surgeon fishes are just the appetiser for thirst for sight divers.
Guests had a good month with underwater sightings of Indian Ocean Oriental Sweetlips, schooling Jacks,various species of Nudis, Stone Scorpionfish, Pufferfish, Mantas and many more.
Divers onboard saw a variety of crustaceans underwater, a wide range of nudis, curious and playful mantas, gentle hawksbill turtle swimming past but our charters are not only focused on underwater. On the topside, beautiful sunsets accompany you while you are lounging with a cocktail or Bintang on hand and trying out some yoga poses at the top of a hill are just a few interesting this you can do during your dive interval.
Guest had an enjoyable time in Komodo this time of the year with sightings of both large and small creatures. It is not difficult to put that smile of divers mouth.
A galore of macro for the tiny world enthusiasts! We have sighted popcorn crabs, yellow boxfish, soft coral crabs, soft coral candy crab, a variety of sea slugs like the adorably named pikachu, sea apple and so many more to tempt divers to an extended stay.
Our cruises on the topside view are also not to be missed. Be it taking a stroll at the pink beach, hiking to see the view from the topside or visiting the park to see the famed Komodo Dragons, or perhaps a monkey or two, it is no doubt a wondrous experience. The sights underwater are not too shabby too with mantas and schooling fishes to keep you company.
Hammerheads, snakes, pristine reefs!Just can’t get enough of them. The rest.. like the colourful untouched corals, yellow painted frogfish yawning and weedy scorpionfish are just a bonus.
